Chocolate Orange Drrrrizzle
We've eaten this with vanilla ice cream balls rolled in crushed graham crackers and also on top of layered chocolate cake. The semi-sweet chips and orange juice give it a small hint of bitterness to compliment any sweet dessert.
(These measurements are estimates, so in the words of Rachel Ray, "Just eyeball it!")
1 1/2 cups orange juice
1 tsp. bourbon vanilla extract (regular would work fine)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 cup cold milk
pinch of salt
Reduce orange juice and vanilla over high heat for about 10 minutes. Add chips and stir until melted. In small bowl, combine cornstarch with cold milk, then add to the chocolate mixture. Add salt. Stir over low heat until thickened. You can serve this sauce either warm or cold. Makes about 2 cups.
